Project Overviews

The civil works at the Buronga Substation were delivered within an existing 220kV substation yard as part of an asset replacement program. The scope included construction of new equipment foundations and associated civil modifications to facilitate the replacement and integration of upgraded high-voltage assets across the existing yard, all delivered in accordance with stringent engineering specifications and quality standards.

The project also incorporated all associated in-ground services, including installation of underground services to enable cable routing, drainage, and overall site performance. A key feature of the works was their delivery in and around existing operational infrastructure, undertaken under both outage and live conditions. This required detailed planning, precise staging, and strict adherence to safety and access protocols to ensure continuity of operations while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

The completed civil works provide a robust and compliant platform for the upgraded assets, demonstrating the capability to safely deliver complex construction activities within constrained, high-risk substation environments.
